Sort of a ‘hippy wearing a corset’…smiles

When you have lived on the island, Vancouver Island I say, as I have and ,as well as many lucky others you will know what I mean!

The grass roots osmosis lives on in this gal….

…dreaming to do business on a handshake, giving tirelessly, and willingly for down to earth conversations and making you feel from my heart at home and peaceful to continue on with your fantasies and basic needs as a human being, integrity, taking everyone somewhat sometimes naively for face value until proven otherwise… trying to make an honest living in a rather underground profession!

I came to Toronto to study at Ryerson, Fashion design ,when Canada was in its infancy with true Canadian manufacturing of edgy designs…not an easy feat.

The thrill of a bigger multi cultural city drew me in at 19 years of age and I have never looked back from Toronto’s amazing offerings.

But once in awhile the Island beckons me back to regroup, slow down and breath in the moist ocean air,

take needed walks on the sandy beach reminding me of days when we built fires between the driftwood and tried to swim in the frigid waters,

or walks in the fragrant woods with the Douglas fir needles crackling beneath your feet,

or check out Mom and Dad’s comfort food of stews,homemade biscuits and his famous flapjacks!!

or check out the only grocery store a block away

or see what’s new in the bevy of small tourist trap stores filled with local handmade soaps and honey products, pressed flower notecards, weaving, jewelry and such.

One thing is for certain…

I do not wear Birkinstocks, I shave my armpits and other things , I don’t smoke dope nor do I make soap!!!

I am a big city girl with small town values

as many of you know by now!! and many still have not

I am here until Monday and then I fly away for my annual trek, back on February 3rd, hopefully to the arms of new and old compatriots alike!!
